Mustangs beat the Baron 54 – 7

On Friday night at Glenn McHugh field in DDO, the ever enthusiastic St-Bruno Barons visited the North Shore Mustangs.

Although the Mustangs easily prevailed in the game, the Barons players never gave up and kept on encouraging each other all night long.

The Mustangs scored on their 1st two possessions of the 1st quarter, RB Elijah Williams scampered for a 60yd run, the extra point kick was good by Costa Papanikolaou.

Then QB Darius Simmons scored a 34yd bootleg followed by the extra point kick and Mustangs were quickly ahead 14 – 0.

In the 2nd quarter the Mustangs scored 3 more times.  First up was a 5yd TD pass from QB Darius Simmons to WR Tyrell-Lamar Williams, the extra point was good at 10:50.

Then the Barons got on the scoreboard when the Mustangs offence fumbled a hand off and the Barons scooped it up and ran it in for a touchdown.  However the Mustangs quickly came back with a 38yd TD pass from QB Darius Simmons to WR Brandon Parent, the extra point was good.  In the last minute of the 1st half the Mustangs scored on a 59yd TD run by RB Jayden Jehoda-Biney, the extra point was good and the half ended 35 – 7.

In the 2nd half the Mustangs backups got most of the playing time and QB Gabriel Salonichios dumped a short pass off to now WR Darius Simmons who took the ball 63yds for the score.  The next score was a 10yd TD run by Brendon Remy and with the clock running, the Mustangs closed out the scoring in the 4th quarter with a 65yd run by RB Shamond Carlisle followed by an extra point convert by Joshua Tak.


Next week, on Friday September 9th, 8PM at Glen McHugh field in DDO, the Mustangs host the Laval Bulldogs.
