Mon nom est Andrew Maggio, je suis étudiant en journalisme de deuxième année à l’université Concordia qui aspire à devenir une journaliste sportif multi-plateforme.

J’ai écrit pour plusieurs médias locaux, dont deux sur le campus Concordia: «The Concordian» et «The Link», ainsi que «CultMTL». Je suis de plus le co-animateur d’une émission de radio sportive sur la station de radio communautaire de l’Université Concordia (CJLO1690 AM) intitulé «The Game Misconduct», diffusée les dimanche après-midi à partir de 12h00.

Comme Canadien (et plus précisément, un Montréalais), mon premier amour a toujours été le hockey, mais le football est un très, très, très proche deuxième …

Et je l’avoue, je retrouve souvent que le football me manque plus que le hockey. Mon appréciation et amour pour le sport viens de mes premières années à vivre le début de la carrière légendaire d’Anthony Calvillo, tout en passant de simple observateur à fanatique des Dolphins de Miami.

My name is Andrew Maggio, I am a second-year journalism student at Concordia university aspiring to become a multi-platform sports journalist. I have written for several local media outlets, including Concordia’s two on-campus newspapers, The Concordian and The Link, as well as Cult MTL. I am a co-host on a sports-talk radio show on Concordia’s community radio station (CJLO1690 AM) called “The Game Misconduct”, which airs Sunday afternoons from 12:00-2:00 P.M.

As a Canadian (and more specifically, a Montrealer), my first love has always been hockey-but football is a very, very, very close second…and I admit, I often find myself missing football more than hockey. My appreciation and love for the sport stems from my earlier years as I lived through the prime of Anthony Calvillo’s legendary career, while also going from casual observer to die-hard Miami Dolphins fanatic. I tried suiting up for a few of my high school football teams over the years (as a wide receiver, where I managed to impressed as a natural hands catcher), but ultimately my small stature impeded me from ever making it to the big time…so I make up for it by spending game days observing, critiquing, and writing.
